Having qualified as an FCA Chartered Accountant in 1998, Philip continued to apply his expertise to various businesses across the North. Using a methodical and process driven way of working, Philip has often been the level and grounded backbone whether a company is an established business or a new start-up. Philip’s ability to keep an eye on the day-to-day as well as a long term view, makes him a valuable asset to NTR.
His previous role for NetConstruct, a Wetherby based digital consultancy, gave him an insight into working with a broad range of personalities within a fast-paced environment. NetConstruct gained much success dealing with businesses across the UK to supply with digital environments, web-based projects and are a much respected advisory consultancy. Their growth was rapid and the financials were key to keeping the business on a firm footing whilst allowing the business to fully appreciate any financial constraints whilst managing recruitment, resource and ultimately the direction of their business.
Philip’s belief that the “numbers do not lie” is fundamental to NTR’s decision making and is at the centre of why we choose to implement strategies and our plans for growth and development.
A keen fell runner, Philip can often be found galloping across the hills of the North Yorkshire Moors with his family and the Nidd Valley Runners – no matter what the weather! He was recently awarded a rare Life Membership to the club having competed in over 1000 races and ascended his 500th unique Lake District top. Having introduced his son Alex to cricket at the age of 6, Philip is also heavily involved in his local cricket club as Treasurer and Junior Coach. Philip brings the camaraderie engendered in club environments to the work environment, believing that the working environment is about team-work and having a little fun.
